As an artist, I try to make work that doesn’t immediately announce it’s meaning. The paintings, I like, have an ambiguity that allows the viewer to see for themselves something new or surprising.
Our eyes are being dazzled by images all the time, so my aim is to provide a place of sanctuary for the viewer. A place where showing trumps telling.
As a carpenter I put my customers first, and in collaboration, come up with a mutually satisfying answer that their job demands.
Bespoke carpentry greatly enhances the limited space that most of us inhabit, and allows for a degree of order and harmony to enter the domestic environment.
